Paul's Story

Paul Dimafelix, Founder and Creative Director

My earliest memories of jewelry began with curiosity.

In high school, I would often find myself drawn to an arts-and-crafts store in my hometown, spending afternoons after class creating beaded pieces by hand. Sometimes, I would go with my best friend Kenneth. I loved the quiet moments of choosing materials, combining colors and textures, and turning small details into something personal. Looking back, those early sessions were where my interest in jewelry, design, and self-expression first began to take shape.

Years later, around September 2010, my friend Pia, who made polymer clay jewelry as a hobby and side business, brought me along on one of her supplier errands. I still remember walking into the shop and feeling completely awestruck. To me, it was beads heaven — a room filled with strands, stones, colors, textures, and possibilities.

What began as a personal creative interest eventually grew into a jewelry line, shaped over the years by experience, intuition, and a deeper appreciation for materials. In November 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, during a time when the world felt uncertain, I introduced a more refined line using upgraded materials and more considered designs. I first named it Amaani, a name that means hope.

After a meaningful first year and the support of many wonderful clients (if you are one of them, thank you from the bottom of my heart), Amaani became Paul Raymond — my namesake brand that felt more personal, more enduring, and more true to the world I wanted to build.

Over time, I became drawn not only to how jewelry looks, but to how it makes people feel — admired, remembered, protected, celebrated, or simply more themselves. That feeling continues to guide the way I design.

Today, Paul Raymond creates contemporary gemstone jewelry designed in the Philippines. Each piece begins with intention: the mood, the material, the balance, the way it feels when worn, and the story it quietly carries.

My hope is that every Paul Raymond piece becomes more than an accessory. I hope that each piece becomes something personal, thoughtful, and lasting.

Cheers,
