Our Design Process
At our studio in Antipolo City, just east of Metro Manila, each Paul Raymond piece begins with a simple belief: natural stones already carry their own beauty. Our work is to honor that beauty through thoughtful design, careful proportion, and quiet refinement.
We create jewelry that feels personal, enduring, and easy to wear — pieces made not only for the moment, but for the stories, rituals, and memories they will eventually hold.
Where Each Piece Begins
The design process can start in different ways.
Sometimes, it begins with a sketch by our founder and Creative Director, Paul — a line, a silhouette, a proportion, or a feeling translated into form.
Other times, it begins with the stone itself: the depth of black onyx, the flash of tiger eye, the softness of moonstone, the ocean-like calm of aquamarine, or the natural variations found in every strand of gemstones we source.
A color, texture, or unexpected pairing can become the starting point for an entire piece.
Guided by the Stones
Because we work with natural gemstones, no two pieces are ever completely alike. Each stone carries subtle differences in tone, pattern, clarity, and formation.
Rather than forcing uniformity, we design around these natural variations. We consider how each stone sits beside another, how the colors shift under light, and how the piece will feel when worn every day.
This is what gives a Paul Raymond piece its quiet individuality.
Designed with Intention
Every detail is considered: the size of the stones, the rhythm of the arrangement, the choice of accent materials, the balance of color, and the way the piece rests on the body.
Some designs are minimal and restrained. Others are more expressive, built around rare stones, meaningful color stories, or statement proportions.
But across every collection, our approach remains the same: the piece must feel refined, wearable, and timeless.
Made by Hand
Once the design is finalized, each piece is carefully assembled by hand in small batches.
This allows us to pay close attention to composition, finishing, and quality. It also means that each piece carries the touch of the hands that made it — a quiet reminder that jewelry is not just an object, but something meant to be lived with.
The Final Edit
Before a piece becomes part of a collection, we review it for balance, wearability, and overall feeling.
Does it feel like Paul Raymond?
Does it honor the stone?
Does it feel beautiful now, and still beautiful years from now?
Only when the answer feels right do we release the piece.
Our design process is not about rushing trends. It is about creating gemstone jewelry with intention — pieces that feel personal, grounded, and quietly enduring.
